Job summary

Carlisle Support Services is recruiting for a Retail Security Officer to support Tesco locations in Blackpool. The role involves ensuring safety, providing a professional security presence, and engaging positively with customers and staff.

Hours are Tuesday and Thursday 11:00-19:00 and Saturday 15:00-00:00 (25 hours/week with a 3 hour unpaid break; 22 hours paid). Pay is £14.15 per hour, with full induction and ongoing training offered.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ (legal requirement).
• SIA Guarding or Door Supervision licence required.
• Background check: BS7858 vetting with 5 years of verifiable history.
• Reliable, punctual and flexible in approach.
• Smart, professional appearance with a friendly attitude.
• Willingness to learn and develop in security roles.
• Excellent people skills and ability to build trust with others.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and wellbeing of colleagues and customers.
• Provide a visible, professional security presence.
• Respond to incidents with care and prioritize safety.
• Conduct security patrols to deter risks and control access points.
• Engage with the public in a friendly and helpful manner.
• Follow and manage security procedures confidently.

The role

The ideal candidate

• Age: 18+ (due to legal requirements for this role)
• SIA License: Guarding or Door Supervision licence required
• Background Check: 5 years of verifiable work and address history (to comply with BS7858 vetting process)
• Dependable, punctual, and flexible in approach
• Smart, professional appearance with a friendly and approachable attitude
• Passionate about doing a great job, always eager to learn
• Security experience is welcomed, but your willingness to learn is most important
• Able to engage positively with clients and the public, creating warm and welcoming interactions
• Excellent people skills and the ability to build trust with those around you

Successful candidates will be required to provide original documentation for detailed screening and vetting processes.

This could include the following: passport / driving licence / utility bill dated in the last 3 months / HMRC letter / original bank statement / original payslip / birth certificate / a valid share code.
