Job summary

TSS is hiring a Retail Security Officer in Gravesend. You will provide a visible uniformed deterrent and help ensure the safety of staff and visitors while following client policies on loss prevention.

The role involves reporting incidents, supporting evacuations, and maintaining a professional on-site presence. Successful candidates will hold an SIA licence (SG/DS) and be 18 or older, with strong communication and customer service skills; training and progression opportunities are available

Qualifications

• SIA licence required (SG/DS).
• Aged 18 or over.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Able to use digital devices and systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide a visible uniformed deterrent and contribute to safety on client premises.
• Carry out loss prevention duties and ensure staff and visitors are safe.
• Deter potential troublemakers on site and observe/report incidents using reporting systems.
• Carry out duties assigned by the client or manager; update local site knowledge.
• Understand and implement Fire and Safety evacuation procedures.
• Assist with staff and contractor searches if required by the client.
• Maintain the security base in a clean and tidy condition.
• Wear full uniform with SIA licence clearly displayed and conduct yourself professionally.

Position: Retail Security Officer

Location: Gravesend

Pay Rate: £14.35 per hour

Hours: Various

Shifts: Various

SG / DS SIA licence required.

Your Time at Work

• To provide a visible uniformed deterrent, to contribute to the safety and security of the client’s premises and staff
• To carry out Company Policy on loss prevention and ensure the safety of staff and visitors
• To lawfully deter potential troublemakers on site
• To observe and report incidents using the correct reporting systems
• To carry out all duties assigned by the client or manager to whom you are responsible
• To ensure site knowledge is kept up to date and developments at local level are identified
• To understand and implement any Fire and Safety evacuation procedures
• To assist, if required by the Client, with staff and contractor searches
• To ensure that the Security base is always maintained in a clean and tidy condition
• To conduct yourself, at all times, in a manner which will bring credit to yourself and the Company, ensuring full uniform is worn and SIA licence is clearly displayed
