Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a Relief Security Officer for the B&Q Hedge End & Nursling locations. The role provides day shifts, full training, and a strong emphasis on maintaining a safe shopping environment.

Qualifications

• Door Supervision or Security Guarding License
• Five-year checkable employment history or documentary evidence of unemployment/education

Responsibilities

• Act as a visual deterrent on the shop floor
• Safely detain offenders following H&S training
• Utilize store security systems, including CCTV and EAS gates
• Collaborate with covert security operatives
• Investigate losses and support inquiries about known offenders
• Complete accurate incident reports and company documentation
• Report crime incidents using a company-provided tablet
• Conduct routine patrols to ensure customer safety
• Record patrols in daily activity sheets
• Provide security updates during store briefings
• Conduct shift handovers to ensure service continuity
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all

Location: B&Q Hedge End & Nursling
Position: Security Officer
Pay: £13.34 per hour
Shifts: Day shifts only (Up to 9 hour a day between the hours of 8am – 8pm Monday – Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sundays)
