Job summary

Action Together is seeking a Retail Operations Lead to manage day-to-day operations across three charity shops in the region. You will lead by example, supporting and developing a team of 5 Shop Assistants and volunteers across three sites, while overseeing retail administration and ensuring compliance with charity procedures.

You will work closely with the Board of Trustees to continually improve the retail operation, maximise income, and ensure high standards of customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience leading retail teams or supervising staff and volunteers.
• Experience using HR systems such as BrightHR for rotas and leave management.
• IOSH Managing Safely qualification or willingness to obtain it.

Job description

The Retail Operations Lead is a working manager who has responsibility for the day-to-day management of their own allocated charity shop whilst providing operational management across all three charity shops. The postholder will lead by example, support and develop 5 Charity Shop Assistants and volunteers across 3 sites, oversee retail administration, maximise income, ensure compliance with charity procedures and work closely with the Board of Trustees to continually improve the retail operation.

• Hold an IOSH Managing Safely qualification or be willing to work towards.
• Experience in retail supervision or management.
• Experience leading staff and volunteers.
• Excellent organisational, communication and customer service skills.
• Experience using HR systems such as BrightHR for rotas and leave management or the ability to learn quickly.
• Commercial awareness with the ability to analyse sales information and produce reports.
• PAT testing qualification or willingness to undertake training.
• Willingness to travel between shops.
• Charity retail, online selling and volunteer management.
• Experience of online selling platforms.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation.
