Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking an Electrical Estimator for its Pre-Construction / Estimating FM Projects team. You will prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical building services on retail new builds, refurbishments, and maintenance, interpreting drawings and tender docs to deliver accurate costings.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in Electrical estimating.
• Experience pricing building services projects.
• Proficiency using Trimble estimating software / Excel.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Strong understanding of electrical building services systems.
• Good numerical and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for electrical building services projects.
• Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documents to fully understand the scope of works.
• Produce estimates using Trimble estimating software and Excel.
• Compile material, labour, and subcontractor costings.
• Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Prepare tender breakdowns, cost summaries, and value engineering options where required.
• Review client specifications to ensure estimates meet technical and compliance requirements.
• Identify scope gaps, risks, and opportunities within tender documents.
• Liaise with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams to clarify project requirements.
• Work closely with the estimating, commercial, and operations teams to support tender submissions.
• Assist with client queries during the tender process.
• Attend internal tender review meetings.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating procedures and systems.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and cost tracking.
• Maintain and update estimating databases, cost libraries, and supplier information.
• Develop relationships with suppliers and specialist subcontractors.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market pricing and supply chain capabilities.
