Job summary

Whittard of Chelsea in Braintree is seeking a Retail Deputy Manager to support the Store Manager and lead a small team on the shop floor. You will coach staff, manage rotas, drive performance with data insights, and deliver exceptional customer experiences daily.

You will help stock, maintain compliance, and ensure the store visuals align with brand standards while building local community links and contributing to store growth.

Qualifications

• Experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within a retail environment.
• Natural ability to coach, motivate, and lead by example.
• Strong commercial instincts with confidence in reading reports and using data to influence daily decisions.
• Proactive mindset with the ability to spot what needs doing and take action.

Responsibilities

• Lead from the front with customers, coach the team to bring products to life through storytelling, tastings, and memorable service moments.
• Manage rotas, give feedback, and drive a positive, high-performing store culture.
• Track KPIs like conversion and ATV, spot trends, and implement ideas to improve performance.
• Ensure stock, deliveries, H&S compliance, and store visuals meet Whittard’s standards.
• Engage with local businesses and support marketing activity to grow local store presence.
