Job summary

The Fragrance Shop in Middlesbrough is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager, drive sales and ensure smooth day-to-day operations. This hands-on role focuses on staff training, delivering excellent customer service, and maximising every sales opportunity in a busy fragrance environment.

You will lead a team, open and close the store, coach colleagues, handle till operations and stock presentation, and actively promote the brand in the local market.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Proven ability to drive sales and meet store targets.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with customers and colleagues.
• Experience coaching or supervising staff and leading a small team.
• Flexible attitude with the ability to work weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of fragrance products is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in achieving store targets.
• Open and close the store, ensuring safety and legal compliance.
• Coach and develop consultants to deliver excellent customer service.
• Drive sales through friendly, efficient service and product recommendations.
• Resolve customer questions and queries with product knowledge.
• Ensure products are displayed, priced, and coded correctly in the POS system.
• Deliver a positive and engaging shopping experience for customers.
• Promote the company and role within the local marketplace.
• Assist with deliveries, merchandising, stock takes and promotions.
