Dougies Goodies Bakery in Ballymena is seeking a friendly Retail Assistant to help customers find their favourite treats and keep the shop welcoming.

You’ll handle transactions, restock shelves, ensure cleanliness, follow food safety rules, and work Monday to Friday 12:00pm–5:00pm, joining a small, upbeat team. No prior bakery experience required; on-the-job training provided.

We’re on the lookout for a Retail Assistant with a sweet tooth and an even sweeter personality to join our team! Your main gig? Making sure our customers find their favourite goodies and leave our shop with a smile. You’ll also keep our bakery looking as fresh as our daily bakes and ensure our shelves are stocked with the best treats in the city!

• Welcome every customer with a smile so warm it could melt butter, making them feel right at home.
• Help customers pick the perfect treat. Offer your expert advice - after all, you’ll know our goodies like the back of your hand.
• Whip through transactions like you’re icing a cake, ensuring every payment is handled with care.
• Keep our bakery sparkling clean - from the counters to the display cases - so our goodies always look their yummiest.
• Make sure our shelves are never bare! Replenish stock and arrange our treats so they’re practically begging to be bought.
• Follow food safety and hygiene protocols—because our Goodies are too good to mess with!
• Work together with your fellow bakers and front-of-house team to make sure the whole bakery runs like a well-oiled mixer.

Qualifications:

• Experience in retail or customer service? Sweet! But if you’re just starting out, bring your passion for people and pastries - we’ll teach you the rest.
• You’re a people person with a knack for making others feel welcome - because at Dougies, we’re all about spreading positivity.
• You’ve got a sharp eye for detail and can keep things neat and tidy, even when the shop’s buzzing like our coffee grinders.
• You thrive in a fast-paced environment, staying cool as a cucumber even during the morning rush.
• Comfortable with cash registers and simple math? You’ll be making change faster than we make cakes!
• Flexible enough to roll with the shifts? Working pattern will be Monday - Friday 12:00pm - 5:00pm
• Passionate about top-notch customer service and have a genuine love for the bakery biz.
• You’ve got the stamina to stand on your feet all day and can lift bakery supplies with ease (because those trays of buns aren’t light!).
