Job summary

Bayne’s the Family Bakers in Bank Street, Airdrie, is seeking a Retail Sales Assistant to join our team. You’ll work varied shifts, including weekends, typically 4 days from 7, with 16 hours per week and potential for extra hours.

You’ll prepare and serve bakery and food-to-go items, handle till payments, stock displays, and help customers with recommendations. The role offers up to £12.93 per hour and a benefits package, with discounts for colleagues.

• Cash handling experience with touch screen tills (training provided).

Responsibilities

Retail Sales Assistant - Bank Street, Airdrie, ML6 6AF

You will be given various shifts - which will change week to week and will include weekends (when rostered on), between 5:00am am and 5:30pm - any 4 days from 7.

16 hours per week (although additional hours may be available).

Up to £12.93per hour plus an excellent benefits package (see below)*

We use traditional baking methods to produce the finest, freshest, mouthwatering products which we only sell in our own Bakery Shops.

What your key responsibilities are:

• Prepare and serve customers with a range of hot and cold bakery and food to go products.
• Set up and maintain counter and window displays in line with our guidelines.
• Deal with customer pre-orders and process payment and paperwork accordingly.
• Take payment for goods using electronic tills and processing by cash and card.
• Stock shelves with products.
• Answer queries from customers.
• Give advice and guidance on products to customers.
• Report discrepancies and problems to the management team.
• Cleaning of shop & facilities.

Ideally you will have:

• Previous food retailing experience / Food to Go.
• Great communication skills.
• A positive attitude, we’ll need you be resilient.
• Cash handling experience / working touch screen tills (don’t worry, we’ll teach you).
• You will be required to be flexible with your hours, you will need to be available to work between Monday to Sunday any 4 days from 7.
