Job summary

Bayne’s the Family Bakers in Monifieth is looking for a Retail Sales Assistant to join our shop. You will work a varied shift pattern, including weekends, between 5:30am and 5pm, with four days out of seven.

This role is 16 hours per week (additional hours may be available) with pay up to £12.93 per hour plus an excellent benefits package. Your duties include greeting customers, serving bakery and food-to-go items, handling payments, stocking shelves, and keeping the shop clean and welcoming.

Qualifications

• Previous food retailing experience (Food to Go).
• Great communication skills.
• Positive attitude and resilience.
• Cash handling experience on touch screen tills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve customers with bakery and food-to-go products.
• Set up and maintain counter/window displays.
• Process pre-orders and take payment (cash/card).
• Stock shelves with products.
• Answer queries from customers and offer product guidance.
• Report discrepancies to the management team.
• Clean shop and facilities.

Retail Sales Assistant - Monifieth shop

You will be given various shifts - which will change week to week and will include weekends (when rostered on), between 530am and 5pm - any 4 days from 7.

16 hours per week (although additional hours may be available).

Up to £12.93 per hour plus an excellent benefits package (see below)*

We use traditional baking methods to produce the finest, freshest, mouthwatering products which we only sell in our own Bakery Shops.

What your key responsibilities are:

• Prepare and serve customers with a range of hot and cold bakery and food to go products.
• Set up and maintain counter and window displays in line with our guidelines.
• Deal with customer pre-orders and process payment and paperwork accordingly.
• Take payment for goods using electronic tills and processing by cash and card.
• Stock shelves with products.
• Answer queries from customers.
• Give advice and guidance on products to customers.
• Report discrepancies and problems to the management team.
• Cleaning of shop & facilities.

Ideally you will have:

• Previous food retailing experience / Food to Go.
• Great communication skills.
• A positive attitude, we’ll need you be resilient.
• Cash handling experience / working touch screen tills (don’t worry, we’ll teach you).
• You will be required to be flexible with your hours, you will need to be available to work between Monday to Sunday any 4 days from 7.
