Warner Scott Recruitment is partnering with a leading global advisory firm to appoint an experienced Director to lead a UK restructuring practice. You will advise lenders, investors and boards on financially stressed businesses, shaping mandates and directing engagements with a high degree of client contact and senior stakeholder interaction.

I'm working exclusively with a leading global advisory firm that is investing heavily in its UK restructuring practice. This is an exciting opportunity to join a market leading restructuring team at a pivotal point in its growth. Due to continued demand and a strong pipeline of mandates, they are looking to appoint an experienced Director to join an expanding team that is already recognised as a leader in its field. This is a rare chance to step into a high profile role, work on complex and often headline situations, and help shape the next phase of a growing business.

You will advise lenders, investors, boards and management teams on financially stressed and underperforming businesses. Depending on your background, you will join either the creditor side or the debtor side of the practice, working on situations such as:

• Lender advisory, independent business reviews and monitoring
• Company side restructuring, turnaround and contingency planning
• Refinancing, restructuring plans, CVAs and consensual solutions
• Formal insolvency appointments and advisory mandates
• Stakeholder negotiations across lenders, sponsors, management and other parties

You will take real responsibility from day one, leading engagements, managing client relationships and developing the team around you.

This role is only suited to candidates with previous restructuring experience gained at a professional services firm or a restructuring boutique. You will ideally have:

• A track record as a Director or Associate Director, or be a strong Senior Manager ready to step up, in restructuring, turnaround or business recovery
• Hands on experience on either the creditor side or the debtor side, with a clear understanding of the other
• A professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) ideally
• Strong commercial and financial judgement, with the ability to build trust quickly with senior stakeholders
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the confidence to lead teams and engagements
• A real interest in business development and growing your own network
