Job summary

British Garden Centres at Burford House is seeking a Restaurant Manager with proven ability to run a busy restaurant and deliver excellent customer service. This hands-on, weekend-inclusive role requires enthusiasm, teamwork, and strong communication to inspire our staff and maintain high standards.

You will oversee the team, manage operations, resolve customer queries, ensure food hygiene compliance, and look for opportunities to improve sales.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Communication and team management abilities.
• Minimum 2 years' experience of managing a busy restaurant and large team.
• Managerial experience.
• Good IT skills - Excel and Word.
• Level 2/3 food hygiene.

Responsibilities

• The smooth running of the department with diligence, discipline and trust.
• Ensuring the integrity & security of the tills and till area.
• Ensuring all relevant risk & COSHH assessments have been completed and control measures followed.
• Monitoring ongoing operations and resolving issues promptly.
• Identifying and tending to/reporting all issues relating to your produce or the team quickly and efficiently.
• Ensuring colleagues & customers are dealt with in a professional, respectful and attentive fashion.

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Full Time

Hours: 45 Hours Per Week Including Weekends

We are looking for a Restaurant Manager you will have proven capabilities for running a successful restaurant and promoting excellent customer service.

You must be enthusiastic and wish to pro-actively develop the business. This is a hands-on role where teamwork and communication are vital.

The main function of the Restaurant General Manager is to oversee staff, ensure that the business operation runs smoothly and handle escalated customer queries and grievances.

Must be able to work weekends. 2 years Management experience.

Experience at management level. Must be able to demonstrate a passion for Guest Service.

As a Restaurant Manager, you will manage, lead, inspire and develop an amazing team and ensuring all customers have a great Restaurant experience.

Duties will include:

• Be aware of and manage all Food hygiene requirements.
• Ensuring all the Company fixtures and fittings are looked after
• Ensuring all Company Property including, but not limited to, machinery, equipment, retail stock and non-retail items for colleague use is looked after and used correctly
