The Dragonfly Hotel Colchester is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join the Restaurant & Bar Team and begin their hospitality career in a warm, supportive environment.

You will be involved in delivering great service, learning the menus and beverages, and contributing to an energetic service culture at a well-regarded East Anglia hotel.

• Take orders and serve food and drink

The Dragonfly Hotel Colchester offers a welcoming and supportive environment to work, set in a great location just minutes from Colchester’s historic city centre and surrounded by the beautiful Essex countryside. With 50 well‑equipped rooms, the hotel provides a modern yet relaxed setting, where attention to detail and great service are at the heart of everything we do.

How you'll bring the magic to the floor as part of our Restaurant & Bar Team:

• Has a positive, can‑do attitude towards customers and other team.
• A genuine enthusiasm for learning about all things food and drink — including spirits, wines, cocktails, and delivering the "perfect serve".
• A willingness to understand different food styles and service standards, learn the menus, and confidently explain dishes to customers.
• Strong communication skills and enjoyment of interacting with guests in a lively, fast‑paced environment.
• The ability to deliver great service — taking orders, serving food and drink, processing payments, and ensuring every guest has an excellent experience.
• Commitment to meeting site service standards and working effectively as part of the team.
• A developing or good understanding of preparing coffees and serving alcohol and wine in both bar and restaurant settings.
• Availability to work opening and closing shifts, including weekends and bank holidays on a pro‑rata basis.
• A willingness to continue your development through in‑house and external training sessions.
