Job summary

Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 3 Therapy Technical Instructor to support therapists in assessing, treating and rehabilitating patients with respiratory conditions across wards, clinics and community settings.

Youll assist with pulmonary and community rehabilitation, and help with safe discharge planning. The role requires working 08:00–17:00 with a 7-day rota including weekends and bank holidays, in a dynamic NHS service.

Qualifications

Evidence of a recognised therapy support qualification, or working towards one, such as a Foundation Degree, NVQ, relevant competency framework or equivalent.
Functional Skills Level 2 in English.
Functional Skills Level 2 in Mathematics/Numeracy.

Responsibilities

To work across acute and community services as required.
To work with physiotherapists and occupational therapists with planning and facilitating the patients progression through the treatment plan, within the rehabilitation plan set out for the patient.
To provide cross team cover as required within the limits of competencies.
To be responsible for implementing prescribed treatment programmes with an allocated caseload, following an initial screening by a registered Physiotherapist.
To work with therapists with planning and facilitating the patients progression through the treatment plan, within the protocols/plans set out by the registered therapists.
