Job summary

Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide patient-centered care across pediatric units, including the NICU, PICU, ED, and general floors.

The role requires an associate degree in Respiratory Therapy, NBRC credentials (CRT/RRT), Florida license, BLS, and, when applicable, PALS, NRP, and STABLE certifications. New grads are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
  • CoARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program graduate.
  • CRT credential from NBRC.
  • RRT credential within 12 months of hire if not already held.
  • Current Florida Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
  • Current BLS certification from American Heart Association.
  • PALS certification within 12 months when applicable.
  • NRP and STABLE certifications within 12 months when assigned to NICU.
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply.

Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital provides expert pediatric care to infants, children and adolescents. Join a highly trained Respiratory Care team providing specialized care across pediatric critical care, emergency care and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

General Summary
  • Provides patient-centered respiratory care by assessing patients, developing care plans and administering prescribed respiratory therapies. Operates and monitors respiratory equipment, including invasive and noninvasive ventilators, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy, Respiratory Care or a related field.
  • Graduate of a Registered Respiratory Therapy program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential must be obtained within one year of hire if not already held.
  • Current Florida Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be obtained within one year of hire when applicable.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and STABLE certifications must be obtained within one year of hire when assigned to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential at the time of application.
  • Experience in a Level II or higher Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), pediatric critical care or pediatric emergency care setting.

Salary Range: Minimum 30.64/hour - Maximum 49.02/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
