Resources Manager (Crew Delivery Manager)
GWR Integrated Control Centre – Swindon
GWR is the proud custodian of Brunel's railway - one of the most prestigious networks in the world. We have some of the newest trains in the country and exciting plans to extend our services. With more than one hundred million passenger journeys each year, we carry people to over 275 stations in the South West, from Cornwall and South Wales to London, passing through beautiful countryside and some of the UK's top tourist destinations.
We are transforming the way people think about train travel, empowering our team of over 6,000 people from diverse backgrounds to make it a great experience for our customers. Together, we will revalue rail as a very special way to travel – relaxing, fast, efficient, and friendly.
The role involves ensuring that train crew reach their destinations on time. We oversee positions including Drivers, Guards, and Catering Staff across the GWR network.
As part of our team, you will oversee the resource desk operations on a 24/7 roster, working closely with Train Service Delivery and Network Rail colleagues. Your responsibilities include forward planning of services, implementing emergency train plans, managing service disruptions and recovery, supporting colleagues in need, and handling administrative tasks.
This is a dynamic, desk-based role requiring the use of specialised railway industry software. Once on shift, you will oversee crew operations in your assigned network area.
If you answered "No" to any, consider if a control-based role suits you. If "Yes" to all, we encourage you to apply.
Benefits include ongoing development, a defined benefit pension scheme, free rail travel for you and your family across the GWR network, health care, shopping discounts, and an employee assistance programme.
At GWR, we aim for an inclusive environment, valuing diversity and ensuring equal opportunities. We support flexible working options and provide additional application support for candidates with disabilities or neurodivergent conditions.
