Role description:
  1. Lead activities to ensure ‘right people at the right time in the right place’ to deliver business plans and strategies, focusing on capabilities and SPO (Skills Powered Organisation).
  2. Manage and lead a team, acting as a trusted business partner for escalations.
  3. Support long-term workforce planning (6 months – 2 years), including resource management, GEC, contingent workforce, and recruitment.
  4. Support the Strategic Workforce Planning vision of resource agility for clients, business, and people.
  5. Align with Arcadis’s vision of improving quality of life and becoming a UK employer of choice.
  6. Collaborate with the Commercial Operations Team for reporting and support to Business Units.
  7. Provide insights on weekly resource forecasts, variance analysis, and ensure alignment with projects, pipeline, and cost billability.
  8. Validate forecasts against actuals and ensure data visibility for better collaboration.

Reports to: Business Area Operations Director; Direct Reports: 3-5 team members.

Role accountabilities:
Stakeholder management:

Build positive relationships with key stakeholders like Resource Managers, Commercial Operations, BDs, MDs, Strategic Pursuits, HRBPs, Finance, and TA to understand and support business needs.

Resource Optimisation:

Implement resource leveling, monitor supply and demand, optimize staffing models, negotiate skill and grade mix, and ensure resource sharing and technical understanding across teams.

Planning:

Provide insights on skills and capabilities, contribute to business plans, and support strategic resourcing decisions with data and analytics.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation:

Identify and develop best practices in SWP, continually evolving approaches for maximum value.

One Team:

Provide inclusive leadership within the SWP domain.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Significant experience in resource management and workforce planning.
  • Strong leadership, delegation, and data accuracy skills.
  • Collaborative, confident, and self-aware, with experience in business partnering.
  • Ability to manage complex issues and act as a trusted advisor.
  • Effective communicator at all levels, especially senior management.
  • Resourcefulness, determination, and a future-focused mindset.
  • Data-driven decision-making skills and a flexible, knowledge-sharing attitude.
