Job summary

SSE is seeking a Vegetation Management Resilience Tree Cutting Surveyor based in Inverness to protect the transmission network. You will survey vegetation near assets, assess risk according to ET132, and support planning and delivery of essential tree-cutting works.

You will need a full driving licence, UA5 qualification, and practical experience in utility arboriculture, with strong planning, stakeholder engagement and clear documentation skills.

Qualifications

• UA5 qualification in Utility Arboricultural Surveying
• Experience in arboriculture/utility forestry
• Experience supervising contractors
• Strong planning and organisational skills
• Proficient IT skills including MS Office

Responsibilities

• Carry out resilience surveying as part of the ET132 programme.
• Inspect networks to identify tree risks and assess potential costs.
• Engage with landowners and stakeholders to obtain tree-cutting consents.
• Produce work packs and documentation for internal and external teams.
• Liaise with contractors and perform quality inspections for safety and quality
