Job summary

SGN is seeking an experienced Emergency Planning & Resilience Manager to join a focused resilience team. You will lead preparedness, incident readiness and response planning to protect communities across SGN networks.

You will work with Executives and frontline teams, develop training and exercising programmes, and drive continuous improvement in incident response. Regular travel across SGN operating area is expected.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in emergency planning, resilience or business continuity.
• Any resilience-related qualifications would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of Civil Contingencies Act 2004, JESIP principles and related legislation (COMAH, MAHP).

Responsibilities

• Act as trusted advisor to Executives and Senior Leaders during planning and response activities.
• Provide specialist advice on emergency planning and incident response across networks.
• Develop and deliver training, testing and exercising programmes to embed a resilience mindset.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Gas Control, Cyber Security, Business Continuity) to stress-test arrangements and implement improvements.
• Build relationships with resilience partners and stakeholders for joint learning and exercises.
• Lead regular reviews and horizon scanning to drive preparedness and improvement.
• Undertake other duties including outside hours and on-call arrangements.
