Job summary

SGN is seeking an Emergency Planning & Resilience Manager to join a dedicated resilience team across our SGN South network (Farringdon, Horley, Godstone, Epsom, Orpington, Aldershot). You will drive preparedness, ensuring plans cover incident response and recovery, and act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders.

You will develop training and exercise programmes, work with Gas Control, Cyber Security and Business Continuity, and lead continuous improvement through horizon scanning and lessons

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in emergency planning, resilience or business continuity.
• Knowledge of Civil Contingencies Act 2004, JESIP principles and related legislation.

Responsibilities

• Act as trusted advisor to Executives and Senior Leaders during planning and response activities.
• Provide specialist advice on emergency planning and incident response across networks.
• Develop and deliver training, testing and exercising programmes for colleagues at all levels.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Gas Control, Cyber Security, Business Continuity) to stress‑test arrangements.
• Maintain relationships with resilience partners and stakeholders for joint learning and exercises.
• Lead regular reviews and horizon scanning to identify and implement improvements.
• Perform additional duties outside normal hours during incidents or on-call arrangements.
