Fulbridge Social Care is recruiting experienced and trainee Residential Youth Workers to join our casual team. The role involves working in children’s residential homes and independent living settings. We seek flexible, reliable, and interactive individuals eager to work in a specialist environment where full training and qualifications are provided.

The position entails providing security, guidance, interaction, and support to young people with challenging behavior and complex needs. The goal is to create an environment that caters to their intellectual, spiritual, social, and emotional needs.

You will work with young people aged 11 to 18 who are in the care system for various reasons, with diverse disorders, behaviors, and needs. Candidates should have the confidence, patience, and skills to work successfully with these young people and positively impact their lives.

Responsibilities include supporting young people throughout the day with tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, education, and shopping. Interaction with professionals like social workers, probation officers, and police officers is also required, supporting young people in environments like classrooms, courts, and police stations.

A valid driving license is essential, as you will need to drive the unit car and transport young people to destinations such as family contacts, school, and social activities.

Applicants must complete an enhanced DBS check with Fulbridge Social Care and successfully finish one of our induction programs before placements are offered.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Build strong professional relationships with service users and staff.
  2. Maintain a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for young people and staff.
  3. Keep up to date with communication and information systems.
  4. Participate actively in meetings.
  5. Support young people in managing their behavior using approved skills.
  6. Promote equality, acknowledging individual differences.
  7. Protect service users from abuse by staff, visitors, or other service users.
  8. Write accurate reports for reviews and keep records for monitoring.
  9. Attend all training and achieve relevant qualifications.
  10. Attend work reliably and punctually, following shift patterns.
  11. Stay informed about procedures and policy changes.
  12. Ensure health and safety for yourself and others.
  13. Undertake additional relevant duties as required.
