Job summary

Action for Children is seeking a Residential Support Worker in Telford. You will help create a safe, stable daily environment for children and young people, supporting routines, personal care, activities and community involvement while building trusting relationships.

The role requires hands-on experience in residential care, safeguarding training, and a proactive, creative approach to problem solving to develop and implement tailored care plans and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a Residential care setting.
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent) preferred but not essential, with willingness to work towards it.
• Experience and training in safeguarding.
• Knowledge of completing and updating tailored care plans.
• Ability to create a safe and fun environment for staff and children in home and community.

Responsibilities

• Provide lead case/care planning management, including assessing, reviewing and managing risk.
• Co-ordinating responsibilities within the service, with multi agency and producing family information, including analysis and written reports.
• Supporting with taking part in fun activities, learn new skills and work towards independence.
• Supporting with personal care, communication, administration of medication and clinical procedures.
