Job summary

Resicare Alliance Children's Care in Wolverhampton is seeking a Residential Support Worker to provide safe, child-centred care to children and young people with complex needs. This full-time role is 40 hours per week at £13.50 per hour, supporting routines, education, health appointments and life skills.

Join a dedicated team as a key worker, follow care plans, maintain records and contribute to reviews while progressing toward the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare.

Qualifications

• Genuine motivation to work with children and make a positive difference.
• Willingness to work towards Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare within two years.
• Ability to build appropriate relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Emotional resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Willingness to work flexibly, including shifts, weekends and sleep-ins.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Enhanced DBS check valid for working with children (or willingness to obtain one).
• Desirable: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
• Desirable: Experience with children or young people in any setting.

Responsibilities

• Providing high-quality, child-centred care that promotes safety, stability and wellbeing.
• Building positive, trusting relationships with children while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Supporting children with daily routines, education, activities, health appointments and life skills.
• Following care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support strategies.
• Acting as a key worker for allocated children, taking responsibility for care planning and outcomes.
• Maintaining accurate, timely records and contributing to reviews.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues, and leading shifts when required.
• Engaging respectfully with families, social workers and other professionals.
