Job summary

Resicare Alliance Children's Care is seeking a dedicated Residential Support Worker in the West Midlands to help children with complex needs build resilience, form positive relationships, and reach their full potential.

The role is full‑time, 40 hours per week, paying £13.50 per hour. You will act as a key worker, follow care plans, support daily routines, record progress, and collaborate with families, social workers, and professionals.

Qualifications

• Genuine motivation to work with children and make a positive difference.
• Willingness to work toward Level3 Diploma within two years.
• Ability to build appropriate relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Emotional resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Willingness to work flexibly, including shifts, weekends and sleep-ins.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promotion the welfare of children.
• Enhanced DBS check for working with children (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Providing high-quality, child-centred care that promotes safety, stability and wellbeing.
• Building positive, trusting relationships with children while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Supporting children with daily routines, education, activities, health appointments and life skills.
• Following care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support strategies.
• Acting as a key worker for allocated children, taking responsibility for care planning and outcomes.
• Maintaining accurate, timely records and contributing to reviews.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues, and leading shifts when required.
• Engaging respectfully with families, social workers and other professionals.
