Job summary

Cambian Group Plc is seeking compassionate Residential Support Workers to join our Children’s Services. You will provide high-quality care, support, and guidance to children and young people in our residential homes.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to implement individualised care plans, promote safety, wellbeing and development, and help young people build life skills. You will support daily living activities, encourage positive behaviour, and maintain accurate records while

Qualifications

• A genuine passion for working with children and young people.
• Experience in residential care or similar field is desirable but not essential.
• Understanding of child development and ability to support emotional and behavioural needs.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends and sleep-in shifts.
• Driving licence essential.
• Willingness to use electronic care recording systems; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Support children and young people with daily living activities including personal care, education, and recreation.
• Promote positive behaviour and provide emotional and practical support to boost self-esteem.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with children and young people.
• Implement care plans and ensure individual needs are met.
• Safeguard children and report concerns in line with safeguarding procedures.
• Help children develop life skills such as communication, socialisation and independence.
• Provide a safe, welcoming and structured environment for growth and development.
• Assist with reviews and contribute to tracking the child’s progress and goals.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with standards.
