Job summary

Dignus Group is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our residential children's service in Birmingham. You will provide day-to-day care, build trusting relationships and support young people aged 14-18 with autism, learning disabilities and additional complex needs.

You'll work as part of a caring team, follow care plans, help with daily activities, education and health appointments, and contribute to a safe, nurturing home environment where each young person can reach their potential.

Qualifications

• Experience in residential care settings with children/young people.
• Ability to follow individual care plans and safeguarding procedures.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, caring, child-centred support in line with care plans.
• Build positive relationships and a nurturing environment.
• Support 1:1 with challenges, confidence and independence.
• Assist with daily activities (cooking, cleaning, shopping).
• Encourage access to activities, education and community opportunities.
• Help develop independent living skills and personal development.
• Provide emotional support during difficult times.
• Support wellbeing and health appointments; liaise with families and professionals.
