We are looking for a Residential Support Worker to join a 3-bed Residential Children’s Home working with children with Learning Disabilities and Physical Disabilities. The salary is £28,000 plus sleep-in allowance. This is a highly rewarding role within a supportive team, offering many benefits.
Role Responsibilities:
- Supporting children and young people to create a safe, stimulating, and caring environment.
- Contributing to the daily running of the home and ensuring compliance at all times.
- Leading case and care planning for individual children or young people, including assessment of needs and developing care plans with agreed outcomes.
- Managing shifts with accountability for service delivery, risk assessment, and resource deployment.
- Supporting children and young people with personal care, medication, and clinical procedures.
- Managing paperwork and files, organizing activities, and safeguarding young people.
- Advocating for the wellbeing of the young people.
About You:
- Minimum Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care or equivalent (e.g., Level 3 Health and Social Care Children and Young People’s pathway).
- Previous experience in residential care is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Experience in shift leading, team supervision, and staff management.
- Good understanding of safeguarding procedures.
