Orchard Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking an Assistant / Quantity Surveyor to join a growing residential developer in Yorkshire. This role is aimed at candidates progressing from an Assistant QS into a full Quantity Surveyor, focusing on financial management of residential developments and keeping projects within budget.

You will work with commercial and operational teams, handle budgets, subcontractor procurement, valuations, variations, and final accounts, and contribute to cost reporting

Competenze

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally with some exposure to housebuilding.
• Understanding of subcontractor procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Good commercial awareness and an understanding of construction costs.
• Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
• Confident communicating with subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams.
• Proactive, commercially minded and keen to take on additional responsibility.
• Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification would be beneficial

Mansioni

• Assist with the commercial management of residential developments from inception through to completion.
• Prepare and monitor budgets, cost plans and financial forecasts.
• Manage subcontractor and supplier packages, including procurement, tendering and negotiations.
• Review and agree subcontractor valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs, identifying potential savings and commercial risks.
• Assist with cost reporting and cash flow forecasting.
• Liaise with site teams, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure commercial targets are achieved.
• Ensure accurate commercial records and documentation are maintained
