Job summary

Hill Group UK is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Basingstoke. You will manage the commercial and financial elements of residential projects, ensuring costs stay within budget and value is maximised across the programme.

In this role you’ll handle procurement, cost reporting, and subcontractor relationships, while mentoring trainees and promoting a collaborative culture within a busy commercial team.

Qualifications

• Qualified or working towards RICS or CIOB membership.
• Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction.
• Experience as a Quantity or Contract Surveyor in residential development.
• Strong procurement and subcontractor management skills.
• Good cost reporting, remeasurement and risk analysis capabilities.
• Excellent numeracy and commercial awareness.
• Effective communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage cash flows, cost plans and contract sum analyses.
• Procure and administer subcontractor packages including valuations and final accounts.
• Produce monthly cost value reconciliations, forecasts and outturn summaries.
• Identify cost savings and value engineering opportunities.
• Coordinate with Technical and Production teams to meet milestones.
• Lead commercial discussions with subcontractors and assist final accounts.
• Maintain proactive communication and resolve commercial queries.
• Ensure subcontractor documentation aligns with ISO9001 standards.
• Attend design and coordination meetings with commercial focus.
• Uphold H&S compliance in all activities.
• Mentor trainees and promote a collaborative culture.
