Job summary

St Andrews Nursing and Care Home in Sleaford, NG34 9PL, is seeking a Senior Care Assistant for night shifts (7pm–7am). The role offers permanent full-time employment with a £16.31/hour base pay (£15.31/hour for under-21s) and a £750 sign-on bonus after three months.

The job involves leading night shifts, ensuring high standards of care, and supporting residents with daily living, medication rounds, and accurate charting.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience as a Care Assistant in residential/nursing home setting.
• Live within 30 minutes of the Home.
• Awareness of Person-Centred Care Planning.
• Understanding of abuse prevention and reporting procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide the highest level of care and support residents in daily living.
• Promote independence with dignity and respect and share handovers.
• Lead shifts to maintain high standards and support the team.
• Complete daily medication rounds accurately and document diligently.
• Promote best practice and conduct two‑monthly one‑to‑ones; investigate concerns as directed.

St Andrew’s is located in the lovely village of Ewerby (5 miles to the East of Sleaford).The home is set around a lovely old vicarage, which has been selectively extended in keeping with its character.This provides the homeliness that Jasmine seeks for its homes, whilst still providing modern living accommodation.The home provides personal care, including nursing and dementia care, for 42 residents.

Role Responsibilities as aSeniorCare Assistant

• Providingthe highest possible levels of care in supporting andassistingour residents in all aspects of daily living.
• Responsibilityfor promoting our resident’s independence with a focus on choice,dignityand respect, alongside promoting their physical and emotional wellbeing and to give input during shift handovers.
• Leadingyour shift to ensurehigh standardsaremaintained, and other members of the team feel supported.
• Completingthe daily medication rounds and document consistently without errors or any issues beingpicked up onthe medication audits, ensuring the daily charts are completed to a high standard by all team members on all shiftsyou’llbe responsible forleading.
• Promotinggood practice in all aspects of care, and challenge poor practise from other team member. ensure one to ones for all care and support team members are done every two months and investigate complaints and concerns as directed by the Home Manager.

Role Requirements as aSeniorCare Assistant

• Relevant Professional qualification (e.g., Registered Nurse or NVQ/Diploma minimum level 3 in Health and Social Care).
• Minimum of two years’ experience as a Care Assistant in residential / nursing home setting.
• Awareness of the principles of Person-Centred Care Planning.
• Understanding of the prevention of abuse of vulnerable adults, recognition of the signs of abuse and procedures to followin the event ofan allegation of abuse.
• Residewithin 30 minutes of the Home.
• Ability to work under pressure.
