This pattern gives you regular weekdays off and a great work‑life balance across the rota.

What you'll be doing

As an Intern Student Support Assistant, you'll be helping our students achieve their goals within one of our onsite Residential Houses.

As part of the wrap around support we provide to deliver outstanding education for children and young adults with physical needs you’ll;

  • Assist with specialist equipment
  • Work closely with a range of professionals as part of a friendly multidisciplinary team
  • Support with personal care, including washing, dressing, bathing, toileting and personal hygiene
  • Assist with mealtimes, preparing snacks and supporting nutritional needs
  • Help keep accurate records and contribute to individual support plans
  • Create a safe, positive and inclusive environment where every student can thrive

No previous care experience is required—we'll give you all the training you need.

Who we're looking for:

We're looking for enthusiastic, caring people who are ready to learn.

You'll ideally have:

  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent)
  • A genuine interest in health, social care, education or supporting young people
  • Great communication and teamwork skills
  • A willingness to learn and get involved
  • Compassion, patience and reliability

This role is especially suited to students or recent graduates from Health & Social Care or related courses who want practical experience before progressing into careers such as nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, teaching, psychology or social work.

What you'll get in return

Alongside a rewarding role, you'll receive:

  • Comprehensive paid induction and ongoing training
  • Hands‑on experience working alongside experienced professionals across education, therapy and care

  • The opportunity to explore a variety of career pathways within Treloar's
  • Potential for long‑term employment and career progression within the Trust
  • Health cash plan
  • Life insurance and Critical Illness Cover
  • Discounted gym membership
  • Health and wellbeing activities including gym, yoga and Zumba
  • On‑site accommodation may be available (subject to availability and T&Cs)
  • Refer‑a‑friend scheme of up to £500 (T&Cs apply)
