Essential Employment is seeking a Fire Safety Surveyor for a temporary, full-time role based in Horsham. The position pays £350 per hour.

Responsibilities include managing FRA actions across residential properties, conducting inspections, and preparing remedial specifications to ensure compliance and safety. You will monitor contractors, perform quality assurance and safety spot checks, provide expert fire safety guidance to residents and stakeholders, and produce technical reports.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor fire risk assessment (FRA) actions across residential properties.
• Undertake property inspections to identify fire safety defects, deficiencies, and compliance issues.
• Analyse fire-related building defects and prepare detailed specifications for remedial works.
• Conduct pre-works and post-works inspections to ensure quality, compliance, and satisfactory completion of projects.
• Monitor contractors, carrying out quality assurance and health and safety spot checks to ensure safe working practices.
• Manage contractor performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations, including SOR and non-SOR contracts.
• Provide technical advice and guidance on fire safety matters to colleagues, residents, leaseholders, managing agents, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, building standards, and fire safety requirements.
• Produce accurate reports, recommendations, and technical documentation relating to fire safety and remedial works.
• Support the organisation in maintaining a safe living environment for residents.
