Job summary

Essential Employment is recruiting a Fire Safety Surveyor for a temporary full-time role based in Horsham. You will manage and monitor fire risk assessment actions across residential properties, ensuring remedial works are completed within set timescales and to high standards.

You will inspect properties for fire safety defects, analyse building issues, and prepare detailed specifications for remedial works.

Qualifications

• FRA experience in residential properties.
• Ability to inspect and report on fire safety defects.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and building standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor fire risk assessment (FRA) actions across residential properties, ensuring all remedial works are completed within agreed timescales.
• Undertake property inspections to identify fire safety defects, deficiencies, and compliance issues.
• Analyse fire-related building defects and prepare detailed specifications for remedial works.
• Conduct pre-works and post-works inspections to ensure quality, compliance, and satisfactory completion of projects.
• Monitor contractors, carrying out quality assurance and health and safety spot checks to ensure safe working practices.
• Manage contractor performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations, including SOR and non-SOR contracts.
• Provide technical advice and guidance on fire safety matters to colleagues, residents, leaseholders, managing agents, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, building standards, and fire safety requirements.
• Produce accurate reports, recommendations, and technical documentation relating to fire safety and remedial works.
• Support the organisation in maintaining a safe living environment for residents.
