Job summary

Southern Housing is offering an initial temporary contract for a Fire Safety Surveyor based in Horsham, RH13 6PN. The role may be extended or offered permanently for the right candidate, with the rate negotiable depending on experience.

You will carry out fire risk assessments, monitor contractors, and ensure compliance with the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order 2005, delivering high standards of service to staff and residents.

Qualifications

• Experience conducting fire risk assessments in a maintenance environment.
• NEBOSH Fire or equivalent qualification.
• Knowledge of the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order 2005.

Responsibilities

• Ensure fire risk assessment works are actioned within prescribed timescales.
• Maintain and inspect Southern Housing properties to meet statutory/regulatory requirements.
• Analyse fire safety defects, prepare remedial specifications and monitor works.

I am currently representing Southern Housing who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 3-6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience

We are looking for a Fire Safety Surveyor this role will be based at: RH13 6PN, Owl Beech Lodge, South Holmes Road, Horsham,

The right candidate will:

• Ensuring that all designated fire risk assessment works are actioned and correctly undertaken within the prescribed timescales.
• Ensuring that all Southern Housing's properties owned and managed properties are maintained to the highest possible standards and that all statutory and regulatory requirements are met.
• Analyse and assess building fire safety related defects and deficiencies, provide remedial proposals and prepare specifications for remedial works
• Carry out post inspection/quality control checks on works and pursue any necessary redress to achieve satisfactory completion
• Carry out H&S spot checks and monitor contractors to ensure they are working safely and complying with all relevant Health & Safety risk assessments and method statements.
• Ensuring that staff, residents, leaseholders, managing agencies and property owners are provided with a high standard of service.

We require the following:

• Experience as a Fire surveyor in a maintenance environment carrying out pre and post inspections
• Fire Qualification NEBOSH fire or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order 2005.
• Experience of working with contractors using SOR and non-SOR contracts.
