Job summary

FirstPort Limited in the UK is seeking a Residential Development Manager. This live-in role provides rent-free accommodation, with a 35-hour week from Monday to Friday, and a salary of £23,205 per annum plus benefits.

You will oversee development sites, manage contractors, and support residents to ensure high service standards. The successful candidate will have strong customer service, communication, and health and safety skills, plus IT literacy and administrative experience.

Qualifications

• Customer service - passion for high-quality service in person or over the phone.
• Clear communication to resolve issues and complaints effectively.
• Understanding of health and safety, including emergency situations.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and quick to learn new systems.
• Organised and capable of keeping accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high profile for the development and check residents per requirements.
• Carry out daily safety checks and manage records; supervise contractors and protect data.
• Oversee works, raise orders, monitor progress, and sign off completion.
• Encourage formation of a Residents Association and social committee for events.
• Build links with residents' families, local authorities, and health services as needed.
• In emergencies, contact the appropriate response team and authorities.
• Assist with sales listed with Retirement Homesearch and welcome new residents.
• Collaborate with local peer team and travel to meetings as required.

Job Role: Residential Development Manager (Ref 26747)

Salary: £23,205.00 per annum, plus benefits

Hours: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm (35 hours per week)

This is a live in position with rent-free accommodation provided.

Main Responsibilities

• Maintain a high profile around the development / office,ensure our residents are checked within our requirements.
• Carry out daily checks ensuring the building is safe and secure, Maintain records in line with internal procedures, ensure all data is protected and kept secure at all times. K eeping all communal areas, gardens and grounds clean and maintained through effective management of contractors.
• Be responsible for all works being completed, raising orders, managing contractors, monitoring progress and signing off completion.
• Encourage and support the formation of a Residents Association, and work with them to enhance the customer experience for residents, Helping build a sense of community by encouraging and supporting a Social Committee to plan and run social events for all residents.
• Build and maintain links with resident’s family members, local authorities; Doctors, Social Workers, Health Authority etc as required and appropriate.
• In the event of an emergency, call the appropriate response team or authorities.
• Assist with sales listed with our partner company Retirement Homesearch , make new residents feel welcome and help them settle in; where possible being present to welcome them.
• Work across your local peer team of Development Managers for advice and day to day support and travel to team / company meetings on a monthly / annual basis

About you

• Customer service- a passion for providing an exceptional level of customer service at all times, ideally in a face to face environment.
• Communication- a natural communicator, with the ability to resolve issues and complaints effectively
• Health & Safety- an understanding of the importance of health & safety, experience of dealing with challenging or emergency situations
• IT- able to operate Microsoft Office applications, and confident in learning new systems
• Administration- organised, methodical and experience of keeping accurate records
• Personal- an outgoing personality, with the ability to build professional relationships with colleagues and customers, self-motivated, pro-active, team oriented, and innovative.
