Job summary

FirstPort is hiring a Residential Development Manager in Bournemouth. This 30-hour-per-week role involves maintaining a visible development presence, ensuring safety and compliance, and managing contractor work to support residents.

You will foster community engagement and coordinate with Resident Management Companies and partner services. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service, strong communication, a solid grasp of health & safety, and the ability to work across a team

Qualifications

• Customer service: a passion for exceptional service, ideally in person.
• Communication: natural communicator, able to resolve issues and complaints effectively.
• Health & Safety: understanding of health & safety importance, able to handle emergencies.
• IT: proficient with Microsoft Office and quick to learn new systems.
• Administration: organized, methodical with accurate records.
• Personal: outgoing, able to build relationships, self-motivated and proactive.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high profile around the development/office and ensure residents are checked within requirements.
• Carry out daily checks to ensure the building is safe and secure; maintain records and protect data; manage contractors to keep areas clean.
• Manage works by raising orders, supervising contractors, monitoring progress and signing off completion.
• Encourage residents to form associations and support a Social Committee to run events.
• Build links with residents’ families, local authorities, doctors, social workers and health authorities as needed.
• Be prepared to respond to emergencies with the appropriate teams.
• Assist with sales with Retirement Homesearch and welcome new residents.
• Collaborate with local peer team of Development Managers and attend meetings.

Main Responsibilities

• Maintain a high profile around the development / office,ensure our residents are checked within our requirements.
• Carry out daily checks ensuring the building is safe and secure, Maintain records in line with internal procedures, ensure all data is protected and kept secure at all times. K eeping all communal areas, gardens and grounds clean and maintained through effective management of contractors.
• Be responsible for all works being completed, raising orders, managing contractors, monitoring progress and signing off completion.
• Encourage and support the formation of a Residents Association, and work with them to enhance the customer experience for residents, Helping build a sense of community by encouraging and supporting a Social Committee to plan and run social events for all residents.
• Build and maintain links with resident’s family members, local authorities; Doctors, Social Workers, Health Authority etc as required and appropriate.
• In the event of an emergency, call the appropriate response team or authorities.
• Assist with sales listed with our partner company Retirement Homesearch , make new residents feel welcome and help them settle in; where possible being present to welcome them.
• Work across your local peer team of Development Managers for advice and day to day support and travel to team / company meetings on a monthly / annual basis

About you

• Customer service- a passion for providing an exceptional level of customer service at all times, ideally in a face to face environment.
• Communication- a natural communicator, with the ability to resolve issues and complaints effectively
• Health & Safety- an understanding of the importance of health & safety, experience of dealing with challenging or emergency situations
• IT- able to operate Microsoft Office applications, and confident in learning new systems
• Administration- organised, methodical and experience of keeping accurate records
• Personal- an outgoing personality, with the ability to build professional relationships with colleagues and customers, self-motivated, pro-active, team oriented, and innovative.
