Job summary

Wates Residential is seeking a Design Manager to lead the design on an assigned project from tender through to completion, ensuring design information supports procurement and construction.

You will coordinate design teams, consultants and suppliers, review information for buildability and safety, manage change, and support BIM and Golden Thread requirements. Strong communication and relevant CIOB/MCIOB or architecture qualifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience managing design teams, consultants and subcontractors.
• Knowledge of CDM, Building Regulations, and health and safety.
• Understanding of procurement, risk, sustainability and MEP systems.
• Experience managing design programmes and change control.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the design process ensuring information is practical and compliant.
• Review design info for buildability, safety, risks and value engineering.
• Manage consultants, subcontractors, technical queries and design changes.
• Work with project teams through tender and delivery.
• Support BIM integration and Golden Thread requirements.
