Job summary

Douglas Scott Ltd in Leicester is seeking an experienced Residential Conveyancing Solicitor to take ownership of a diverse caseload and build strong client relationships.

The role offers career progression within a supportive team, the opportunity to mentor assistants, a bonus scheme and enhanced holidays. Full-time hours are 9:00–17:15, with salary commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' PQE in residential property, with ability to run transactions independently.
• Experience handling sales, purchases, remortgages and title checks.
• Strong client-care, organisation and proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage a full residential property caseload from instruction to post-completion.
• Handle sales, purchases, remortgages, equity release and transfer of equity.
• Work on freehold/leasehold properties including title checks.
• Develop local client relationships and professional contacts.
• Mentor conveyancing assistants and support junior colleagues.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure timely, accurate completions.
• Deliver a high standard of client service and communication.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced qualified Residential Conveyancer to take ownership of their own caseload, develop their client relationships and play an important role within a successful team.

Your caseload will cover:

• Residential sales and purchases.
• Remortgages and equity release transactions.
• Freehold and leasehold properties, including title checks.
• Transfer of equity and matrimonial transfers.
• Shared ownership leases.
• Variation of leases.
• New build purchases.
• Help to Buy matters and other residential property transactions.

You will ideally have:

• 2+ years' PQE, although relevant experience will be considered.
• Qualification as a Solicitor, Legal Executive or CLC practitioner.
• Considerable experience handling residential property transactions, including sales, purchases and remortgages.
• Experience managing a caseload independently from initial instruction through to completion and post-completion.
• Good knowledge of the East Midlandsproperty market.
• Strong organisational, communication and client-care skills.
• A proactive approach and the confidence to hit the ground running.
