Job summary

Eventus Legal in Chelmsford is seeking a Conveyancing Assistant to support a growing Property team in handling a varied residential conveyancing caseload from instruction through to post-completion.

The role offers a full-time, permanent position with a competitive salary dependent on experience up to £35,000, and opportunities for professional development and mentoring within a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• At least four years’ experience in residential conveyancing.
• Thorough understanding of the conveyancing process from instruction to completion.
• Confidence communicating directly with clients, professionals and third parties.
• Strong organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
• Experience using a legal case management system; familiarity with LEAP would be advantageous.
• Ability to work independently while supporting the wider team.

Responsibilities

• Supporting solicitors with residential property sales, purchases, remortgages and auction transactions.
• Assisting with conveyancing matters from instruction through exchange, completion and post-completion.
• Preparing correspondence and legal documents, and obtaining and checking searches and property information.
• Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders and other parties, keeping them informed throughout the transaction.
• Maintaining accurate case management records, monitoring deadlines and progressing matters efficiently alongside colleagues.
