Job summary

North Yorkshire Council in Whitby is seeking a Domestic Assistant to maintain high standards of cleanliness and environmental hygiene in residents' homes. You will perform cleaning across areas including kitchens, and manage laundry duties with care for residents’ dignity.

Role involves some supervision of residents during rehabilitation and basic food preparation. Training and DBS clearance are provided as part of ongoing development in the care sector.

Qualifications

• Experience undertaking domestic laundry duties and operating cleaning equipment.
• Understanding of health and safety related to cleaning and residents' safety.
• Ability to work with dignity and respect for residents.

Responsibilities

• Carry out domestic cleaning in homes including kitchens and washing up.
• Undertake laundry duties and operate laundry machines and vacuums.
• Occasionally supervise residents in domestic tasks as part of rehabilitation.
• Basic food preparation and safe storage of food.
