Job summary

Highwood Care Home in Bideford is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment, including laundry duties. This is a varied, hands-on role where attention to detail and high standards will directly impact comfort and wellbeing.

You will clean residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, support laundry tasks, follow infection control procedures, and may work alternate weekends.

Qualifications

• Positive, reliable approach.
• Good attention to detail and organisation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Understanding of hygiene and infection control is beneficial.
• Previous experience is welcomed but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Clean residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas to a high standard of hygiene and presentation.
• Support laundry duties including washing, drying and ironing and returning clothing correctly.
• Follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures.
• Role will require working alternate weekends.
