Job summary

Family Care is seeking a Residential Childcare Worker to join our Formby-based team, supporting children and young people with learning disabilities in a therapeutic home. You'll deliver daily care, emotional support, and help them grow in a safe, nurturing environment alongside in-house therapists.

The role requires experience with young people, NVQ3 Residential Childcare, a calm, empathetic approach, strong communication and teamwork, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, young people or adults with learning disabilities.
• NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent (or willingness to work towards).
• Empathetic, patient, and positive attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A calm and proactive approach to challenges.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Support children and young people with a range of learning disabilities in their everyday routines
• Promote independence and encourage participation in household and community activities
• Help manage personal care needs where required, with dignity and respect
• Build trusting relationships and provide emotional support
• Follow individual care plans and contribute to their development
• Work effectively as part of a consistent and professional care team, including undertaking sleep-in, shift/rota work (including weekends)
• Maintain detailed and accurate records
