Job summary

Family Care is seeking a Residential Childcare Worker in Wythenshawe to support young people with learning disabilities within a therapeutic residential model. You will work with our in-house practitioners to deliver consistent, personalised care in a safe, nurturing environment.

The role includes sleep-in duties, weekend shifts, and a focus on building independent living skills with dignity and respect. Training and progression opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience with children/young people or adults with learning disabilities.
• Empathetic, patient, and positive attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Support children and young people with learning disabilities in daily routines.
• Promote independence and participation in activities.
• Assist with personal care with dignity and respect.
• Build trusting relationships and provide emotional support.
• Follow care plans and contribute to development.
• Work as part of a professional care team, including sleep-in and weekend shifts.
• Maintain detailed records.
