Job summary

Randstad Care is seeking dedicated Residential Childcare Workers to join our team across Northumberland, providing emotional and practical support to vulnerable young people.

You will build trusting relationships, assist with daily routines, education, hobbies and life skills, and manage challenging behaviours with empathy while maintaining safeguarding standards. Shifts are flexible and DBS checks are required.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a residential childcare or similar support setting is essential.
  • Empathetic by nature with the ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with children and professional teams.
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check (or have one on the update service) and provide references.

Responsibilities

If you are a support worker with experience in caring for children who have experienced trauma, we want to hear from you!

The Opportunity

Our homes in Northumberland provide a vital sanctuary for young people. In this role, you will be providing essential emotional and practical support to children and young people who may have faced significant challenges and trauma. Your goal is to create a safe, nurturing, and stable environment where they can thrive.

  • Competitive Pay: £15.00 - £20.00 per hour (depending on experience and shift type).
  • Location: Northumberland and surrounding areas.

  • Waking Nights: For the night owls who excel at providing a calm, safe presence during the late hours.
