Job summary

Paragon Social Care in Crook seeks an experienced Children’s Residential Support Worker to provide high-quality care and supervision for children and young people in a specialist residential home. You will follow individual care plans, risk assessments, safeguarding procedures and organisational policies to ensure safety and quality of care.

Are you an experienced Children’s Residential Support Worker looking for a rewarding role where you can genuinely make a difference to the lives of children and young people?

We are looking for passionate, resilient and caring individuals to join our children’s residential care team in Crook, County Durham.

This role would suit experienced Residential Support Workers, Children’s Support Workers, Residential Childcare Workers, Care Workers, Care Practitioners, Youth Support Workers, Behaviour Support Workers, Therapeutic Support Workers and candidates with experience supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).

About the Role

As a Children’s Residential Support Worker, you will play an important role in providing high-quality care, support and supervision to children and young people within a specialist residential home.

Every day will be different. You will help create a safe, stable and nurturing environment, support young people through challenges, encourage positive choices and help them develop the skills and confidence they need to thrive.

You will work as part of a supportive team, following individual care plans, risk assessments, safeguarding procedures and organisational policies to ensure the highest standards of care.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Providing day-to-day care, support and supervision to children and young people
  • Supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD)
  • Building positive, trusting and professional relationships
  • Providing emotional support, reassurance and positive role modelling
  • Promoting positive behaviour through consistent boundaries and relationship-based care
  • Supporting young people during routines, activities and everyday life
  • Carrying out welfare checks in accordance with care plans and risk assessments
  • Responding appropriately to incidents, challenging behaviour and safeguarding concerns
  • Maintaining accurate records, daily logs, reports and handovers
  • Working alongside colleagues, managers and external professionals
  • Maintaining a safe, secure, clean and welcoming home environment
  • Completing household duties where required
  • Supporting morning and evening routines
  • Following safeguarding, child protection and health and safety procedures
  • Working in accordance with the Children’s Homes Regulations, relevant statutory guidance and organisational policies

A full UK driving licence is desirable.
