Job summary

KM Recruitment is seeking a Trainer Assessor for Residential Childcare Apprenticeships, covering Hertfordshire with travel. Salary £32,500 - £34,000. Full-time, permanent role. Flexible with travel and home/field based working.

Main duties include assessing learners, supporting maths/English, and managing the learning diary with online sessions and documentation. Applicants should have childcare experience at deputy manager level or above and hold or pursue an assessor qualification.

Qualifications

• Must have solid occupational experience within Residential Childcare (Children's Home) at Deputy Manager level or above.
• Willingness to work towards an Assessor qualification; funding and support provided.
• Ideally hold a Level 3 NVQ in Residential Childcare as a minimum.
• Confident with Maths and English; GCSEs or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and support a caseload of learners working towards Residential Childcare Apprenticeships – Levels 4 and 5.
• Support learners with Functional Skills Maths and English to Level 2.
• Manage your diary to ensure timely reviews and meetings.
• Conduct online video meetings and training sessions with learners.
• Organise and maintain documentation on learners' progress.
• Support, advise and motivate learners; overcome barriers to learning.
