Job summary

Wiltshire Council is seeking a Childcare Officer at Canons House to support children aged 5 to 17 with complex needs. You will assist with personal care, ensure access to activities and contribute to care planning and risk assessments.

You will work with Health Care professionals, Social Workers, and schools, attending reviews and planning meetings with visits to home and school. The role requires a NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, compassion, empathy and flexibility to meet

• Must possess NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent qualification.
• Demonstrate compassion, empathy and a strong motivation to support vulnerable children.
• Adaptability to flexible work arrangements and collaborative teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Support children aged 5 to 17 with complex health and care needs in activities and personal care.
• Contribute to care planning, risk assessment and reviews with multi‑agency teams.
• Attend planning meetings, report writing and home/school visits as required.
