Job summary

Universal Care Group is seeking an OFSTED Registered Children's Manager for our residential home in Solihull. You will oversee care, safeguarding, education and staff development to promote children’s learning and welfare.

The role requires a Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare, with prior managerial experience in childcare being highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Qualified in childcare (Level 3) and Level 5 Leadership & Management for residential childcare.
• Strong knowledge of child development theories and best practices in early years education.
• Experience in a managerial role within childcare settings is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily operations of the children's care facility, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
• Develop and implement engaging programmes supporting physical, emotional, and educational development.
• Supervise and support staff, providing guidance and training to enhance their skills.
• Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers and external agencies for collaborative child welfare.
• Assess children's progress and well-being, adapting programmes to meet individual needs.
• Ensure safeguarding policies are followed to maintain a safe environment for children.
• Manage administrative tasks, including record keeping and reporting.
