Job summary

Universal Care Group is seeking an Ofsted Registered Children's Manager for our new residential home in Solihull. You will oversee the care and development of children, ensuring safeguarding and high standards of education and welfare while leading a team of staff.

The role requires a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for residential childcare and Level 3 Diploma in Childcare, with proven managerial experience.

Qualifications

• At least Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Level 5 Leadership and Management in residential childcare.
• Proven managerial experience in a childcare setting is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of child development theories and best practices in early years education.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills with staff, children and families.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily operations of the children’s care facility, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Develop and implement programmes supporting children’s physical, emotional, and educational development.
• Supervise and train staff to enhance professional skills.
• Maintain effective communication with parents, carers and external agencies.
• Conduct regular assessments of children’s progress and wellbeing and adapt programmes as needed.
• Ensure safeguarding policies are followed to create a safe environment for all children.
• Manage administrative tasks including record keeping and reporting.
