Job summary

Rochdale Council is recruiting a Residential Child Care Worker to support children and young people with social and emotional needs, difficulties and disabilities in Rochdale. The role is full-time, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins, with a salary of £32,061 to £35,412 per year plus up to £3,000 extra through sleep-ins and bank holiday payments.

We expect understanding of SEND/disability, strong communication and experience in care.

Qualifications

• Understanding of SEND/disability and person-centred care.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience with children and young people who may challenge behaviours.
• Experience caring for individuals with disabilities and possible personal care.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and support to children and young people in a residential setting.
• Safeguard children and promote their physical and emotional wellbeing.
• Work shifts including evenings, weekends, Bank Holidays and sleep-in duties.
• Support personal development and participate in training and progression.
